BOOK REVIEW: Entice (Evolve #3) by S.E. Hall

Book Three in the Amazon Best Selling Evolve Series by S.E.Hall, Entice can be read following Emerge, Embrace and Entangled (novella) or as a stand-alone.

Sawyer Beckett does everything full throttle— he’s fiercely loyal to his friends, always the life of the party and impossible for the parade of women in and out of his bedroom to forget.

Surrounded by true love and happily ever afters, Sawyer’s not sure if he’s enhancing the what-ifs in his head, or if the goddess on stage that night really is worth the search and nagging in his chest.

At the most inopportune moment possible, Emmett Young comes “skipping” back into his life…and for the first time, Sawyer is the one left wanting more. But Emmett can’t give her heart; it’s already committed—for life.

The only one strong enough to bring the elusive playboy to his knees is the one he can’t have. Luckily, Sawyer Beckett doesn’t give up easily.

Mature subject matter and strong sexual content- mature audiences only recommended

4 of 5 stars

This is a story about two normal people, with normal lives and normal friends, people like you and me, but together they are extraordinary.

Emmett and Sawyer are perfect for each other, but they had to get through some roadblocks to finally be together. He is a player, a lover boy, and frankly, a man slut at first impression.   When Sawyer sees Emmett for the first time, he sees all her flaws but there was something about her that had him a bit obsessing over and he knew he has to get to her. Emmett is a sweet good girl, but she has a huge secret that keeps her away from Sawyer even though they feel the attraction for each other.

The mystery behind Emmett’s past is very well kept throughout half of the book.  It’s a huge secret, so huge she doesn’t allow herself to be happy with the guy she has come to love.  She knows Sawyer is elbows deep in love with her but there’s that certainty that he might not once she’s revealed her secret. Sawyer being the overprotective alpha male that he is, takes Emmett’s secret quite well.  We like how he handled the situation when he first found out about it.  There was even a time when he’d tried too hard, made a couple of mistakes but through and through he kept his promise to Emmett and totally stepped up and took care of her no matter what.  He’s such a great man!

The Crew is the best!  We love how close knit they are.  For us, they are more than friends, they are a family, they support each other and if they have to make an intervention, they do, and it’s always for the best. Kinda makes you wish you had friends like them.  We especially love the friendship between Sawyer and Laney.  Their friendship is deep.  She truly cares for him and wants him to be happy.

There are moments of angst in this book that had us wanting to scream at them, DRAMA, DRAMA, and more DRAMA!!!  But because The Crew won’t let any issues go unresolved, it’s always great to see that everything always falls into place.

The sweetest moment for us was at the end, Sawyer had us melting like putty in his hands.  He became every girls’ dream man.  (Angelica wants him in her life for reals!!!)

It’s always great to read a book from both characters POV.  We feel like it’s the best way to know the characters and have a better understanding of their perspectives.  We think that if it was written from either Emmett or Sawyer’s POV, this story would’ve been a difficult one to try and comprehend.

So now you’re wondering why we gave Sawyer and Emmett’s book a 4 star instead of a 5 star read?  The truth is, we felt like Emmett and Sawyer danced around the issue of wanting to be together as a couple.  Well, more so Emmett than Sawyer.  She didn’t want to be with him but then she didn’t want anyone to have him.  It was a bit frustrating.  Plus they never really discussed anything about their relationship.  It just sorta happened.  We were looking for more of a foundation.  With that said, this is still a great story!  We love seeing Emmett and Sawyer grow up, take on responsibilities, fight their way back to each other and have their happily ever after.

And just so you know, we totally will be adding Sawyer to our list of book boyfriends.  Who doesn’t love a motorcycle riding hottie with seven piercings and seven tattoos, who might just be a bit of an alpha male 🙂  SEXY, SEXY, SEXY if you asked us!!! We all can benefit from a  Sawyer in our life!

BOOK REVIEW: Sweet Little Thing (Sweet Thing #1.5) by Renee Carlino

Ever wonder what happened after the final pages of Sweet Thing?

From his candid and sometimes neurotic point of view, Will tells all in this musical and sexy follow-up novella to Renée Carlino’s USA Today Bestseller.

Life is pure bliss for Mia and Will. They have a puppy, a loft in Brooklyn, and a new music studio on the rise. It seems things couldn’t get any better for this talented couple when life decides to throw them a sweet little curve ball.

They quickly learn that things don’t always go according to plan. Sometimes happily ever after is one giant leap of faith away.  With the help of good music, good friends, and one eccentric old lady, they overcome a few of life’s little bumps to find the sweetest thing of all.

Watch this duo grow in more ways than one in SWEET Little THING.

Blia’s Review:

5 Billion + Stars

To say I love this novella is an understatement.  I think I’m about to have the biggest book hangover.  I’m just not ready say good bye to Will and Mia yet.  I want more of their story.

What can I say so I don’t give away any spoilers?  If you’ve read Sweet Thing, you know this novella takes place before, during and after the epilogue in Sweet Thing.  Told from Will’s POV, we get to see Will and Mia as a couple living in their loft, producing music and potty training their dog June.

Mia has grown into herself.  She’s a different Mia, still a likeable Mia but a different Mia from the Mia we’ve met and got to know in Sweet Thing.  Will is still his funny, charming self, full of humor.  He is truly a sweet guy and just honestly loves Mia with every breath that he takes.  The feelings he has for her is as deep as the ocean.  You know he’ll go to the ends of the earth for her no matter what.  Kind of makes you wish you were his Mia.

“When we were together, kissing and touching, it was like playing music.  She always knew what move to make, like she was subconsciously counting beats from a sheet of music.  We were always so in sync that it felt like we’d been together for centuries, but in a good way.  I was convinced we had lived twenty thousand lives, and in each one, we had found each other, like two tiny magnets in a drawer the size of the universe.  She and I fit and moved together with such ease, I couldn’t imagine ever being with anyone else.” -Will

I love Will and Mia’s story so much!  My heart feels full after reading Sweet Little Thing.   I enjoyed getting a peek at what their naked dinners consist of.  I want to hang out with them during their jam sessions.  I want to be one of their close friends.  I might just want Will to myself too!

I also love their friends Tyler and Jenny as well Martha.  We all need a Martha in our lives.  She’s a wise one, I tell ya.  Tyler and Jenny, their best friends, I’m so glad that things worked out for them.  I was really rooting for their outcome.

In the end, it warms my heart that Will and Mia, although it took them a year to get to where they are, have found their happily ever after.  This book ended perfectly in my opinion with Mia’s POV three years later.  It was the perfect ending.

I learned that you can’t predict your future, there’s no crystal ball or formula for happiness.  You can’t control the weather just like you can’t control the way others behave, but what you can control is how much love you give.  Surrendering to this crazy thing called life is hard, but we don’t have to be the soulless sheets of paper tarrying along in the wind.  We can find our people, love, respect them, and then hang on for dear life because it’s not where you go on this journey but who you’re with that matters the most.” -Mia

I know that every time I hear the words SWEET THING or SWEET LITTLE THING, it’ll always remind me of Will.  It’s a Will thing.
