There are two kinds of people in the world. The ones who look first, and the ones who leap. I’ve always been more of a looker. Cautious. A planner. That changed after I met Drew Evans. He was so persistent. So sure of himself – and of me.

But not all love stories end happily ever after. Did you think Drew and I were going to ride off into the sunset? Join the club. Now I have to make a choice, the most important of my life. Drew already made his –in fact, he tried to decide for the both of us. But you know that’s just not my style. So I came back to Greenville. Alone. Well, sort of alone….

What I’ve come to realize is that old habits die hard and sometimes you have to go back to where you began, before you can move ahead.

TWISTED picks up two years after Tangled’s end, and is told from Kate’s POV

BLIA’S REVIEW

I may just love Twisted more than I do Tangled.

5 out of 5 stars

Twisted was a captivating read and I read it all in one setting. Drew had his turn and now it’s Kate’s turn to tell us what’s been going on with them two years after they started playing house. Twisted gave me a chance to know Kate on a more personal level and I got to know all the people in her life before there was Drew and New York. Not that Emma took me back in time but in some ways, I felt like she did. I got to see the person Kate was before she became the woman she is.

If you’ve read my review of Tangled, you know I adore Kate. This book however, slightly gave me a different perspective of her. Not in a bad sense but in a sense that she isn’t as strong as I had originally pegged her to be. You get to see her vulnerability but through and through, I still have mad love for her.

Kate and Drew together took me on a wild, crazy, betrayal, laughter, heartbreak but filled with hope ride. I was filled with such emotions reading this book. The angst nearly broke me! Kate and Drew were hot together like sizzling hot but together they were equally stubborn. There were a few times, I just wanted to knock some communication senses into them. Misunderstandings + Lack of communication = Drew & Kate. (= a frustrated me!)

I’ll admit, I don’t adore Drew’s trait of a jackass but the way he loves Kate is beautiful. The way he redeemed himself is forgiving. I love Drew and Kate together. The epilogue was so fulfilling. I loved it!

Emma Chase’s work is perfection. I’m hooked on this series and am looking forward to the next couple of books in this series.

ANGY’S REVIEW

5 stars for Kate and 5 more stars for Drew

I love this book the first time I read it and each time after that, I love it even more. This is Kate’s book.  Her thoughts, her feelings, her experience of being in a relationship with Drew Evans. It’s wonderful to get to read her POV.  I thought she was strong in Tangled, but after reading Twisted, I will confirm that she IS strong.  The obstacles she has gone through in her life and with Drew has taught her to fight for their relationship.  It has made her love Drew even more.  And of course there is one PRIORITY that defines every decisions that Kate makes!!!

Kate and Drew are perfect for each other but they have so much to learn before their relationship is perfect; especially Drew.  Tz Tz Tz Drew!  I am a Drew-Girl.  I love him with all my heart.  I love how cocky, arrogant, self centered and egomaniacal he is.  I also love his devotion, worship and loyalty to Kate.  I love that Kate is just as in love with him as he is with her.  But that isn’t enough.  Drama! Drama! Drama!

The small amount of time with MacKenzie and Alexandra “The Bitch” was so funny!  I want more of them in the next book.

The Three Musketeers – Kate, Billy and Delores.  They are the best friends ever.  Billy and Delores gave the support Kate most needed, and yes, Billy isn’t the dickhead Drew says he is. It is so good to know him better.  Billy is a great guy and he deserve to find an awesome girl.

There were two moments I love the most in this book.  First, The Epilogue – Oh My Drew!  Yes, I miss him SO DAMN MUCH!  The epilogue is just what I needed for this book to feel complete.  And the second moment was the FIX: FORGIVENESS IS SELFISH!

I enjoyed reading this book.  It was funny, it was hot, and it was angsty.  All the feels in one single book.  I cried and then cried again but the second time it was due to tears of happiness. The funny parts were refreshing for the angst and the FIX came earlier than I expected.  All this made for a perfect book.

Great book Emma Chase!!!!

BOOK REVIEW: Tangled (Tangled #1) by Emma Chase

Tangled

532531489pizapw1403557288

Drew Evans is a winner. Handsome and arrogant, he makes multimillion dollar business deals and seduces New York’s most beautiful women with just a smile. He has loyal friends and an indulgent family. So why has he been shuttered in his apartment for seven days, miserable and depressed?

He’ll tell you he has the flu.

But we all know that’s not really true.

Katherine Brooks is brilliant, beautiful and ambitious. She refuses to let anything – or anyone – derail her path to success. When Kate is hired as the new associate at Drew’s father’s investment banking firm, every aspect of the dashing playboy’s life is thrown into a tailspin. The professional competition she brings is unnerving, his attraction to her is distracting, his failure to entice her into his bed is exasperating.

Then, just when Drew is on the cusp of having everything he wants, his overblown confidence threatens to ruin it all. Will he be able untangle his feelings of lust and tenderness, frustration and fulfillment? Will he rise to the most important challenge of his life?

Can Drew Evans win at love?

Tangled is not your mother’s romance novel. It is an outrageous, passionate, witty narrative about a man who knows a lot about women…just not as much as he thinks he knows. As he tells his story, Drew learns the one thing he never wanted in life, is the only thing he can’t live without.

This book was most definitely entertaining.  I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.  I found myself laughing out loud that even my husband want in on what I was laughing about.  My friends, Gretchen and Angy, were excited for me to meet Drew Evans and now I know why.  I mean, holy goodness, this man is in a league of his own!  I can’t say I was a fan of Drew’s in the beginning but as the book progressed, he slowly drew me in.  He is a man’s man.  He’s cocky, self centered and full of himself.  He’s a straight up bastard but wait, he’s so handsome, charming, witty and has a heart of gold.  I love his inner thoughts and his analogies!

I adore Kate.  She’s intelligent, tough and so fierce.  I love that she does not put up with Drew’s b/s.  She was a leading lady I didn’t find myself getting frustrated over.  She made all the right moves when it came to Drew and although she didn’t beat him in chess, she totally kicked his butt in guitar hero. Go Kate!  I also love how she gave Drew a run for his money and boy did he run.  I love their flirting and their arguments.  Is it weird to say that I find that to be HOT because it was!!!  The competition between them were some of my laugh out loud moments.

To my friends Gretchen and Angy, I’m so glad I got to meet Drew.  He is something lovable.  His niece MacKenzie is way adorable.  Her college tuition will be paid for by Drew by the time she turns 18! LOL!!! Thanks for recommending this book to me.  It was entertaining to say the least and I loved every minute of it.  This was the perfect summer read.

BOOK REVIEW: Devil’s Game (Reaper’s MC #3) by Joanna Wylde

Devil's Game

532531489pizapw1403557288

Liam “Hunter” Blake hates the Reapers MC. Born and raised a Devil’s Jack, he knows his duty. He’ll defend his club from their oldest enemies-the Reapers-using whatever weapons he can find. But why use force when the Reapers’ president has a daughter who’s alone and vulnerable? Hunter has wanted her from the minute he saw her, and now he has an excuse to take her.

Em has lived her entire life in the shadow of the Reapers. Her overprotective father, Picnic, is the club’s president. The last time she had a boyfriend, Picnic shot him. Now the men in her life are far more interested in keeping her daddy happy than showing her a good time. Then she meets a handsome stranger-a man who isn’t afraid to treat her like a real woman. One who isn’t afraid of her father. His name is Liam, and he’s The One.

Or so she thinks

This was an incredible story.  It definitely has a different feel from the first two books (Reaper’s Property & Reaper’s Legacy).  This might just be my favorite book out of the three that I’ve read so far.  I don’t know what it is about this series that has me hooked.  Maybe it’s the fact that living a MC life fascinates me or if it’s the fact I’m getting a glimpse into a life that most of us will never encounter in real life.  I don’t know.  I’m just in love with this series.

Joanna, had me on edge in this book.  I know I said that about the other two books in this series but this one had me on edge.   Loyalties were tested; the boundaries are drawn.  Em and Hunter were from two different MC.  Rival clubs you can say.  How will it work?  I hardly got any good sleep.  I was a wreck!

I love Hunter and Em.  Their forbidden love was definitely a Romeo and Juliet story.  Being that they were from different MCs, I was afraid for them.  I felt anxious the whole time I was reading it.  I couldn’t put this book down.  Unlike the first two books, this book was filled with romance and I love it!  Of course it still focuses on the MC life and all the violence that comes along with it but being the romantic at heart, I enjoyed seeing Hunter and Em fight for their relationship.

In the second book, I knew of Hunter as the kidnapper of Em.  (You have to read the 2nd book before you start judging.)  In this book, he is quite the charmer.  He’s loyal and so honest with Em and would do just about anything for her.  A man like that is worth fighting for, right?!

Did I already mention how much I adore Em?  She is a force to be reckon with.  Just like Hunter, she fights for him.  She belongs to him and will not let anyone stand in the way.  I love that about her.  She’s smart and strong.  Her Daddy just doesn’t know it yet, but he’s taught her well.

I’m looking forward to reading Picnic’s book.  I’m guessing it might just top all three books?  I hope I’m right about that.

BLOG TOUR-BOOK REVIEW+Q&A: The Saint by Tiffany Reisz

The Saint cover

532531489pizapw1403557288

In the beginning, there was him.

Gutsy, green-eyed Eleanor never met a rule she didn’t want to break. She’s sick of her mother’s zealotry and the confines of Catholic school, and declares she’ll never go to church again. But her first glimpse of beautiful, magnetic Father Søren Stearns and his lust-worthy Italian motorcycle is an epiphany. Suddenly, daily Mass seems like a reward, and her punishment is the ache she feels when they’re apart. He is intelligent and insightful and he seems to know her intimately at her very core. Eleanor is consumed—and even she knows that can’t be right.

But when one desperate mistake nearly costs Eleanor everything, it is Søren who steps in to save her. She vows to repay him with complete obedience…and a whole world opens before her as he reveals to her his deepest secrets.

Danger can be managed—pain, welcomed. Everything is about to begin.

5 MILLION STARS FOR THIS BOOK

This is my favorite book of Tiffany’s so far!  It is amazing from beginning to end.  I cried, I laughed, I yelled, I even put the book aside for 2 weeks because I didn’t want to finish it.  I’m not sure if I have the patience to wait for The King.

After a year of reading more than 50 + books, I can say I now have a list of favorite authors.  This list includes Tiffany.  If I were to list the authors in chronological order, she would be the first author listed.  I love her writing, her imagination and the characters development and their stories.  When I’m reading one of Tiffany’s books, I get so lost in it.  I feel the story in my heart, in my soul.  It gives me all the feels.

In The Saint, this book surprised me constantly.  One of the biggest surprise is that this book is all about Eleanor and Søren! In The Original Sinners Series, there was Nora, Søren and Kingsley plus the secondary characters.  I think the secondary characters have so much influence on the three of them that it made their stories that much more important.

532531489pizapw1403450583

It is hard to pinpoint what I loved most about this book.  I loved it all!  But if I had to choose, I would say that I love Eleanor and Søren’s love from the first moment they saw each other.  It was crazy how much they gave up for each other and most importantly, how much they give to each other.  We all know they made love for the first time when she was 20 years old but this book shows all the reasons, the motivations, the thoughts, the actions, everything that drew them together and never apart; no matter the obstacles created by some mistakes, bad choices and expectations of the society.

Reading teenage Eleanor and then comparing her with her adult self, Nora, was a bit difficult for me.  Despite the fact that they are the same person and of course share the same nature, they are yet so different.  And I know it has everything to do with age.  Adult Nora is my heroine, she is strong.  She does what she wants and doesn’t care about what other people think. Young Eleanor, on the other hand is a rebel.  She was naive and made so many mistakes.  I was glad I got a chance to know her in her adolescent years though because it gave me a glimpse of her forbidden love for Søren at such a young age. I love the game Eleanor learned from Søren and all the biblical references.  I love the relationship they shared during her youth. I think it helped shape who she is as an adult and it made her a better person.

93663737-576f-4f10-8380-6380c822f69bwallpaper

Collage note: I know Rachel Weisz is Tiffany’s choice for Nora/Eleanor, but young Angelina Jolie was perfect for me

And speaking of Søren, I’m still obsessed over him.  I fell in love with him while reading The Prince and like a flame my feelings for him has ignited with this book.  He is fantastic and it is because of one thing.  And that one thing I CAN’T mentioned as it is a spoiler.  I enjoyed him completely, with every word and every action.  I even googled the symphonies he played on the piano because I wanted to feel close to him.  And when THE MOMENT came, Oh My God, it was amazing, I read it three times because the scene was pure perfection.

Despite that this book was mainly about Eleanor and Søren; Kingsley made a few appearances in this book.  He came full force in all his sexy french mode.  The attraction between Eleanor and him is evident since the first moment they met.  I appreciate Kingsley for the way he helped Eleanor.  They had some great moments together in this book.  I also felt Kingsley and Søren’s friendship was refreshing.

There were also new characters added to The Sinners.  I thought they were all great but there is one character in particular that left an impression on my heart.  I’m going to keep that character’s name a mystery as it will end up being a huge spoiler if I gave it away.

Some of my favorite quotes from this book (spoiler free):

“He’s a hard man to like and a very easy man to love.  But he’s nearly impossible to understand.”

“Mom, he’s a priest. That’s gross.”

“Forever”

“Are you some kind of sadist?”

“I love you, Little One.”

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS TO TIFFANY REISZ

It is such an honor to ask all this question to Tiffany and even more to recieve her answes:

1. What were your thoughts and feelings writing teenage Eleanor?

Happiness. Pleasure. She’s a hoot write. Ornery as all get out much like adult Nora. But she has a teenager’s innocence, a teenager’s anger at the adults around here. It was a lot of fun to put myself in the shoes of a teenage girl without having to suffer the pains of adolescence myself.

2. Do you like teenage Eleanor or 35 year old Eleanor? And why?

There’s no reason for an “or” in that question. I adore Nora at any age. She’s a joy to write. She has no filter. She’s shameless, powerful, and isn’t afraid of what other people think of her. She’s that way as a teenager and still that way as an adult. What’s fun about teenage Eleanor is that other people are guiding her, helping her, showing her the way of the world. When she’s adult Nora, she steps in the role of guide, helper, and mentor.

3. You’ve expressed that this book isn’t about romance but there were times I felt the romance between Søren and Eleanor. Can you explained that? (***)

I’ve never said THE SAINT isn’t a romance. It is a romance. Absolutely. THE SAINT is the story of Nora and Søren’s courtship. She’s fifteen when they meet and twenty when they consummate their love for each other finally. Between those two events, Eleanor goes through testings and trials and learns who she is and who Søren is. When they finally come together at the end, they are true equals truly in love.

4. At the end of the 4th book, there was a huge revelation about Zach and Grace’s son.  Aside from the little hint you give in this book, will we get more information about this in the books to come?

You’ll see…

5. You developed a side story for other characters aside from Nora, Søren and Kingsley in your previous books.  I noticed that this book is only of Eleanor and Søren.  What was the deciding factor for this?

This is a different book. Its focus is on the romance of Nora and Søren when she’s a teenager. That story takes place over four years so there wasn’t room for anyone else in this story other than the person she’s telling the story to.

(***) I need to clarify that i totally misunderstood what once i read about Tiffany’s book not being romance, but i TOTALLY love her answer.

BOOK REVIEW: Reaper’s Legacy (Reaper’s MC #2) by Joanna Wylde

Ruger

COBB synopsis

Reaper’s Legacy is a raw and intensely erotic tale in Joanna Wylde’s Reapers Motorcycle Club series.

Eight years ago, Sophie gave her heart-and her virginity-to Zach Barrett on a night that couldn’t have been less romantic or more embarrassing. Zach’s step-brother, a steely-muscled, tattooed biker named Ruger, caught them in the act, getting a peep show of Sophie he’s never forgotten.

She may have lost her dignity that fateful night, but Sophie also gained something precious-her son Noah. Unfortunately, Zach’s a deadbeat dad, leaving Ruger to be Noah’s only male role model. When he discovers Sophie and his nephew living in near poverty, Ruger takes matters into his own hands-with the help of the Reapers Motorcycle Club-to give them a better life.

Living with outlaw bikers wasn’t Sophie’s plan for her son, but Ruger isn’t giving her a choice. He’ll be there for Noah, whether she wants him or not. But Sophie does want him, has always wanted him. Now she’ll learn that taking a biker to bed can get a girl dirty in every way.

Ruger 1

COBB review

5 out of 5 stars

Damn, life in the MC fascinates me!  I love this book just as much as I love the first book. Ruger is intense! And that damn belt of his, he can tie me up with it anytime 🙂

Right from the start, I felt an immediate connection with Sophie.  I love that she is a strong and independent woman. AND that she tries in every way that she can to make a life for her and her son Noah. I admire her need for independence. Regardless of what Ruger suggested, I love that she held her own and did not back down. I think being with Ruger and seeing his lifestyle has helped shaped the woman in her.

Ruger is a playboy and is not afraid to announce that he’s not a one lady kind of man. He calls all the shots and gets what he wants when he wants. He really messed with my emotions while reading this book. I had a hard time believing if he could ever change. There were times, I wanted to tell Sophie to just run because he irritated me so much but then the gestures he’d make or the sweet things that came out of his mouth drew me to him. Damn him!

Is it strange to say that I enjoyed the sexual tension between Sophie and Rugar. You can fill their frustration through the pages. But when they finally consummate their relationship, it was HOT! I love seeing Rugar fall for Sophie. I love it when he finally admits it to her that with her he IS a one lady kind of man.

Like Reaper’s Property, this book is also told in duo POV. I like knowing about the club business. I like knowing that I know what the Reapers’ women don’t know 🙂 What I also love about this book is getting to know more of the side characters story. I love how close knit all the old ladies are. They are so good to each other!

Joanna has me a fan of her books. Her writing is phenomenal! The action scenes got my heart racing and my mind predicting what will happen next. I felt like I was right there living in the MC world with all the old ladies and the badass bikers. I’m so hooked on this series! I fantasize about it. I even have dreams about it! I am looking forward to the next book.

COBB review

5 out of 5 stars

What a fantastic read!  This story had me on edge the whole time.  I literally spent my Sunday doing nothing other than reading this book.  First, I have to start off by pointing out that the MC nicknames are quite interesting for lack of a better word.  For instance Horse and Picnic, lol!  I can’t get over the name.

Horse, I really like him!  He comes off as a badass biker but underneath the exterior, he is sweet and tender.  What he did for Marie was really sweet.  He truly cares a great deal for her.  There were things that he did that I didn’t agree with but all his reasoning seems to make sense.  And try as I may, I just couldn’t be upset with him because he was always looking out for Marie.

Marie for me, in the beginning, I assumed was a weakling but she proved me wrong.  This girl is a kickass chic.  There were moments in the book where I found her to be a bit naive to all things MC but once she had an understanding, I love how strong she became. Her loyalty to her family is undying even though her brother Jeff is not my favorite person.

I enjoyed seeing Horse and Marie tackle a relationship. I love the steamy moments they shared. It was hot, intense and oh, cold shower please. The chemistry they shared was palpable. I loved it!

I also enjoyed getting to know all the secondary characters. They all played a huge role in the story line. I felt like I was right there with everyone.

Again, this is a fantastic read and I’m looking forward to the other books in this series.

E-book gifted to me by my friend Gretchen. Thanks friend!!!

COBB synopsis

Amanda gives a whole new meaning to cool…

Amanda Smith is sick of getting chased from town-to-town. So when she lands in tiny Trifle, Arizona, she hopes it’s her last move for a long time. Despite hating the smallness of the town, she settles in and finds a best friend, and even a boyfriend. Normality at its finest.

But for a girl who can shoot snow from her hands and lift a two-ton truck over her head like a bag of feathers—normal is not an option.

The scientists who murdered her mother come barreling into Amanda’s quiet life. She must decide if she’ll run again or stay and fight. The price of either choice might be her life or the lives of those she’s come to love…

COBB review

ARC provided by the author.

Frostbite is the first book in the Touch of Frost trilogy.  This is the story of an eighteen year old girl named Amanda, (or Mandy for those who are close to her) who has to live a runaway life with her brother Scott.  They move from town to town eventually settling down in a little town.  They soon began feeling attached to people in the town that they don’t want to go running when they are found by the people who are chasing them.

I loved this book from beginning to end.  The story line, the characters, the writing, everything was amazing.  I found myself fantasizing about this story as if I was living inside of it.  There were moments where I worried about their future.  There was also a part in the book that got me excited about their discoveries.  Huge discoveries to be honest, and I nearly melted over what was happening with Zach.  The descriptions and action scenes in this book were very well written.  I could clearly see every scene in my head.

I like Mandy.  She’s an amazing girl.  She is a little rebel but is really mature for her age.  What I especially like about her is how strong and smart she is and she follows her instincts.  She was a little hesitant in the beginning of the book, but she eventually found the confidence she needed and goes for it.

I like all the other characters.  Georgia and Zach are Mandy’s rock, as she says so herself.  To this I agree with her.  They’re both very important to Mandy, not only because of their true friendship but because they are there for her “no matter what”.  I also have to mention that Mandy’s brother Scott is the best brother in the world.  His love and need to protect her has no boundaries.

I can’t wait to read the next books in this trilogy.

COBB about the author

LynnWhen I started out on this writing journey, it felt like such a far away dream. I constantly asked myself, ‘Really? Me? A writer?’ Then when I was published I still asked, ‘Really? Me? An author?’ Along the way things inspired me, obstacles shot up, and doors both opened and closed…but through my faith, family, and friends, I found motivation to continue on my dream – dreams of something bigger than all of us. Whether it’s writing, music, dancing …
