BOOK REVIEW: Tangled (Tangled #1) by Emma Chase

Drew Evans is a winner. Handsome and arrogant, he makes multimillion dollar business deals and seduces New York’s most beautiful women with just a smile. He has loyal friends and an indulgent family. So why has he been shuttered in his apartment for seven days, miserable and depressed?

He’ll tell you he has the flu.

But we all know that’s not really true.

Katherine Brooks is brilliant, beautiful and ambitious. She refuses to let anything – or anyone – derail her path to success. When Kate is hired as the new associate at Drew’s father’s investment banking firm, every aspect of the dashing playboy’s life is thrown into a tailspin. The professional competition she brings is unnerving, his attraction to her is distracting, his failure to entice her into his bed is exasperating.

Then, just when Drew is on the cusp of having everything he wants, his overblown confidence threatens to ruin it all. Will he be able untangle his feelings of lust and tenderness, frustration and fulfillment? Will he rise to the most important challenge of his life?

Can Drew Evans win at love?

Tangled is not your mother’s romance novel. It is an outrageous, passionate, witty narrative about a man who knows a lot about women…just not as much as he thinks he knows. As he tells his story, Drew learns the one thing he never wanted in life, is the only thing he can’t live without.

5 out of 5 stars

This book was most definitely entertaining.  I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.  I found myself laughing out loud that even my husband want in on what I was laughing about.  My friends, Gretchen and Angy, were excited for me to meet Drew Evans and now I know why.  I mean, holy goodness, this man is in a league of his own!  I can’t say I was a fan of Drew’s in the beginning but as the book progressed, he slowly drew me in.  He is a man’s man.  He’s cocky, self centered and full of himself.  He’s a straight up bastard but wait, he’s so handsome, charming, witty and has a heart of gold.  I love his inner thoughts and his analogies!

I adore Kate.  She’s intelligent, tough and so fierce.  I love that she does not put up with Drew’s b/s.  She was a leading lady I didn’t find myself getting frustrated over.  She made all the right moves when it came to Drew and although she didn’t beat him in chess, she totally kicked his butt in guitar hero. Go Kate!  I also love how she gave Drew a run for his money and boy did he run.  I love their flirting and their arguments.  Is it weird to say that I find that to be HOT because it was!!!  The competition between them were some of my laugh out loud moments.

To my friends Gretchen and Angy, I’m so glad I got to meet Drew.  He is something lovable.  His niece MacKenzie is way adorable.  Her college tuition will be paid for by Drew by the time she turns 18! LOL!!! Thanks for recommending this book to me.  It was entertaining to say the least and I loved every minute of it.  This was the perfect summer read.
