READALONG DAY 6: Breathless for Him (Davison & Allegra #1) by Sofia Tate

BFHcover2 (1)

SYNOPSIS

For fans of New York Times bestselling authors Samantha Young, Sylvia Day, and E. L. James comes the stunning, erotically charged story about a woman who’s not looking for love and the tempting billionaire who left her breathless . . .

As a gifted opera singer, Allegra Orsini’s only obsession is music-until she meets him. A strikingly handsome and powerful man with a life splashed across the tabloids, Davison Cabot Berkeley isn’t what she expected. He’s unlike the other wealthy patrons who dine at Le Bistro. Davison sees more than just a coat-check girl working her way through grad school. And from the moment he looks at her, those deep green eyes ignite a fire inside Allegra she’s never felt before.

She craves Davison’s touch-his possession-endlessly. Even though every fiber of her being is telling her to stay away, that it’s best for both of them, she can’t. As his passion consumes her, Allegra can no longer deny Davison’s hold on her. He’ll never let her go. But as much as she wants him, Allegra can’t surrender to his love-not until she faces a painful secret from her past that could destroy them both . . .

EXCERPT

We’re having a read along for Sofia Tate’s Breathless For Him. Each day we’ll be highlighting three chapters, with notes from Sofia! Be sure to follow along as we get ready for the release of Devoted to Him on December 2nd.

Read Along Chapter 16-18

Favorite quotes:

“Wake up, sleepyhead,” I whisper, leaning down to plant soft kisses on him.

I hear Davison mumble. “Why would I want to do that when I have a gorgeous creature sitting on top of me and making me all hot thanks to her skilled mouth?”

“Because we have something important to do this morning.”

“What’s that?”

“We need to have make-up sex.”

Chapters 16-18

Allegra is recovering at home from her fall. She still hasn’t seen Davison. Lucy and Tomas show up (who appear to have grown closer) and they show her a video Tomas took on his phone of an argument between Davison and Ashton after the fall, accusing her of uploading the video to sabotage Allegra’s performance. She admits that she did it, saying he should know what kind of person he’s involved with. Then his mother shows up and orders her to leave.

The next time Allegra sees Davison is at Le Bistro and they exchange words. He tells her to have dinner with him after her shift at his place the next night. She agrees. Over dinner, she tells him the whole story about her mother’s murder. Concetta was from Naples and immigrated to America where she met Allegra’s father. They married and had her. One night after a baller recital when Allegra was five, her mother was attacked as they were walking home. Carlo Morandi was the perpetrator-he had been obsessed with her mother since their childhoods in Naples, but she didn’t like him. As he was stabbing her, he said if he can’t have her, then nobody could. Allegra ran away and hid as her mother was being stabbed. The police found her a few days later hiding in a basement of a nearby building.

The next morning at his place, Davison and Allegra have sex. At work, Allegra notices a strange man watching her. She spots him again as she’s walking near school with Lucy, but Lucy doesn’t see him.

The night of Allegra’s graduation recital has arrived. Davison picks her up to take her there. She prepares backstage and rushes back to take a selfie for Davison, but someone grabs her and kidnaps her.

SYNOPSIS

Seven Sons (Gypsy Brothers #1) *See where it all began*

18751827My father was most certainly NOT an innocent man. As the leader of the Gypsy Brothers MC, he was guilty of many things. But he died for a crime that he didn’t commit, framed by an enemy within who then stole his club and everything he had ever worked to protect.

Including my innocence.

When Dornan Ross framed my father, he set into motion a series of events that could never be undone. My father was murdered by Dornan Ross and his sons when I was fifteen years old.

Before my father died, Dornan Ross and his seven sons stole my innocence, branded my skin and in doing so, ensured that their lives would be prematurely cut short. That they would suffer.

I’ve just turned twenty-one, and I’m out for blood. I’m out for revenge.

But I didn’t expect to fall for Jase, the youngest brother in the club.

I didn’t expect that he would turn my world upside down, yank my heart out of my chest and ride away into the sunset with it.

Now, I’m faced with an impossible choice – Jase, or avenging my fathers death?

RELEASE DAY BLITZ: Red & Wolfe Complete Box Set by Ella James

red & wolfe the complete set rd blitz

red & wolfe the complet box set

SYNOPSIS

When Sarah “Red” Ryder loses her job as an art critic for a Boston newspaper, she’s brokenhearted. Worse than that? She’s broke. Her boyfriend recently left her – for a tatted-up hottie with a dick – so she’s stuck paying her hefty apartment rent alone. After two months unemployed, there’s no money left. With no immediate family to turn to, Red reaches out to her estranged grandmother, a reclusive writer living on an island off the coast of Charleston. Several days later, Red receives $30,000 and an invitation to visit.

James Wolfe is not Red’s grandmother. But he beckons her. Red has the ability to give him something he needs. He won’t take “no” for an answer, and he doesn’t mind screwing her over. He lost his conscience six years ago, when he was tried for the murder of his wife. Since then, life is about him – and the paintings he does under the mysterious pseudonym “W.”

Wolfe needs the island to keep painting. To live his life away from prying eyes. To keep up the anonymity of “W.”

Once he sees Red, he finds that he needs her, too. And Wolfe will have her. Any way he can.

Red & wolfe teaser

EXCERPT

“Red?” I push her gown down a little further and close my mouth over her breast, working her nipple with my lips. Caressing it with my tongue. I’m rewarded by a soft moan that goes straight to my cock. I need to be inside her, despite knowing I don’t have the time.

I pull the covers down and slide my hand up her shin, then up her thigh. She’s warm from sleep. Her skin feels like burnished velvet. My fingers brush her pussy and she lifts her hips. She wants it. I love the way she always wants it.

“Race.”

I love the way she says my name: a mew.

“I’m going to fuck you with my fingers,” I say, leaning near her face. “Then you’ll go to sleep again.”

A dreamy smile floats over her lips. She nods a little, pressing her head into the pillow.

I slide a finger into her. She’s hot and tight, softer than silk. I can feel her clench as I pump into her. She’s wet this morning. So fucking slick. I stroke in and out, painting her pussy, using my fingertip to smooth warm lines around her swollen clit.

I’m rewarded by her crying out.

“Say my name.”

I still my hand. I can hear my blood rush in my ears. Race. Say Race.

Her hands grab at my wrist. “Race.”

I allow myself a brief grin. It’s undiluted satisfaction. She knows – or at least suspects – I’m James Wolfe, but she’s still in my bed.

“Say ‘Race, please.’ I like to hear you beg.” I push another finger into her. Her body quivers. “I like to feel you jump.”

I stretch her with a third finger and slide my thumb over her clit. I’m moving slow. So slow.

“Race, oh God – yes. Please.”

“That’s right, sweetheart.”

Monica and Alex Waters have spent that last few months working to repair a broken marriage and rekindle their passion. Just as they start finding their spark, Quinn Matthews and his escalating career resurfaces, but this time Alex makes the decision to let Monica go.

The devastation of losing her high school sweetheart, her home, and even her dog twists Monica down a destructive path that alienates her from her closest friends and lands her in the one place she was trying to avoid… Quinn’s couch. Despite her efforts to resist jumping into his arms again, the spark between them reignites and sweeps her away on a whirlwind holiday. She finds that falling in love with Quinn’s family and lifestyle is as easy as falling for his ocean colored eyes. The problem is that it’s all too easy, and when she sees that Quinn’s reinvented life has completely shifted towards her dreams, she starts to question whether he’s too good to be true.

Quinn has a secret that was never meant to be, but will Monica be able to trust another man who’s lied? And now that Quinn’s got his happily ever after in sight, he’s not about to let her go or share her with another man.

INTERVIEW

How did you come up with the story?

There is a little bit of real life in the story. I was laid up on the couch for a summer, forced to quit my job, because of three stress fractures in my ankle that wouldn’t heal. I was reading a lot to pass the time and eventually started writing. There really was a sexy neighbor, he really is an artist, but there was never really an affair. Luckily I’m married to a man that finds my overactive imagination amusing and he never once thought it was autobiographic.

So many of the books I was reading had a similar heroine who was “damaged” as well as the same alpha males. I wanted to build characters that were realistic and flawed to see if I could make them sexy as well. People you would know. Your best friend or coworker. Real life is complicated and real love is even worse. I knew Monica wasn’t always going to be likable. As much as we’d like to deny it, most of us aren’t when we’re going through life changes or stressful events. But that wasn’t a reason not to connect to her or even understand her. I didn’t want a woman who just callously throws away her life-long commitment because she needs to have sex. Monica loves her husband. He’s her best friend. But she realizes that she wants more than a friend and Quinn reminds her that she’s more than just this wife.

I struggled with the premise of an artist, because it’s been done so many times and is a little cliche. But I know a lot of real artists, painters, sculptors, whose lives are very free and I wanted Quinn to have that. It’s an element in Monica’s past that she let go of and forgot about. So, I looked at it like another opportunity to take a cliche and make it more realistic. There are secrets behind him that will eventually test her ideas of freedom and trust. It’s all about her growing into who she is supposed to be and finding out in her mid-thirties that she hasn’t been honest with herself.

I set out to create a story that touches on the complications of love and commitment. It’s been an adventure and I’ve learned so much. I never thought it would be a finished novel, much less multiple, but once I got into it I didn’t want to stop. I know I still have a ton to hone and learn, but I’m finding that the challenges of writing are so addictive that I can’t imagine ever quitting now. It’s become my vice I guess. The reality is that I have another career still as a Production Designer and Art Director in film and television so writing does tend to be crammed into my nights and weekends or between shows.

What led you into writing? Was it a lifelong ambition, or the result of some type of turning point in your life?

I’ve been writing casually since I was in fifth grade. My first story was about five fifth grade boys and an escaped con. Stories were the biggest reason I got into the film and television industry, but as a visual person I ended up in the art department. It’s only been the last few years that I was provoked to push myself to write novels.

About Cover Design?

I love designing my own book covers and graphics. I chose the titles of each book based on the literal and emotional condition in Monica Waters’ life. The element that links all three book covers together is the eye and the predominantly white background. I wanted to reflect the voyeurism that runs through Monica’s world, as well as the intense effect Quinn’s blue eyes have one her. Instead of going dark, as erotic covers tend to be, I wanted to connect to the comfort she finds in a white blanket of fog. I was warned that a white cover might not attract the right readers, but I’m not one to shy away from doing things differently.

Through the series each cover slips into a new shade of oceany color that works with the accent images. August Fog was all about San Francisco and the fog that took over when the complicated affair began. December Rain reflects the tears shed and washing away of everything she knew before Quinn. I don’t want to spoil April Snow’s cover yet, but I’ll say that it reflects springing into a new beginning and her growth. Hopefully readers will see the transformation and get the undertones of the story in just a glance.

What are you working on now?

I’m writing the final book in the August Fog series titled April Snow as well as a stand alone novel called Chasing Swells. I’m really excited about Chasing Swells because it’s so different from this series, but it will be a little sad to say goodbye those characters.

What are some of your likes and dislikes?

Likes (or LOVES):

Chocolate – The darker the better!

Cooking – Anything I can do in a dutch oven or cast iron skillet.

Complicated characters with mystery. – Not all has to be unveiled to me.

Movies – I am a film-o-holic.

Laughter – Life is too short to live without it.

Dislikes:

Instant Love in romance novels. (Lust is okay though.)

Overreactions

Assumptions (I’m guilty unfortunately.)

Chardonnay (One bad night can spoil it forever.)

Mean spirited people. (A no brainer though right?)

Tell us one thing about yourself that we wouldn’t know?

I love to build things. I built the decks in our backyard by myself. It started as a dare, but I did it.

If there was one thing you could tell your readers, what would it be?

Thank you. Thank you for giving some of your time to hang out with me and my characters.

AUTHOR

AlAuthorI’m a designer, author, wife and dog-lover living in the South Pasadena area of California. I got my BFA in Film Production from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, but my love of a good story came way before college. I remember writing my first full story in fifth grade on a typewriter. I cut and pasted it into a book, complete with cardboard cover and taped binding. Things have changed a lot since then. With the magnificent digital age I can produce books and give them to the world without a sticky mess.

In college numerous instructors and peers praised my dialogue pushed me to hone my storytelling skills. Of course the need to cut and paste was still there, so I went into the world of Production Design and Art Direction for films and television. It gave me the ability to connect design to storytelling in a way that no other career can. The past 18 years have spun a unique perspective on visually emotional tales of relationships and the thread that ties all things together. Now I’m shifting focus on the driving force that brought me here… stories. I hope that I can share a unique perspective on life, love and the pursuit in all of the above.

BLOG TOUR: Moonlight in Winter Park by Samantha Chase

Moonlight in Winter Park New

SYNOPSIS

“Moonlight in Winter Park” – A modern-day Beauty and the Beast style Christmas.

All Hope Cooper needed this year was to have the kind of Christmas her family always cherished. But with her parents gone and her only brother having to work, it doesn’t look like it’s going to work out for her. There’s nothing she can do about her parents, but she most certainly can voice her annoyance at her brother’s boss for making him work out of town all through the holidays.

Beckett James hates the holidays and everything that goes with them. They were important at one time, but now the only thing that mattered was his company and it’s continued growth and anyone who worked for him better feel the same way. If not, then they could find employment elsewhere and good riddance. With a major expansion deal on the line, Beckett needs to focus. What he doesn’t need is Hope to come barging into his mountain retreat demanding that her brother come home immediately due to an emergency.

Suddenly it’s two alone in a snowstorm. Two alone for Christmas. And two alone to fight an attraction that had been there all along. Hope soon begins to realize she may have misjudged Beckett while he comes to see that there really is something special and magical about Christmas. But once they leave their private winter wonderland and return to their normal lives, will the magic still be there?

Hope couldn’t believe it, but she readily reached out and put her hand in his.  “Then I guess this place is aptly named.”

Beckett carefully pulled her to her feet.  “What do you mean?”

“I saw some of the signs as I was walking down the driveway earlier.  This place used to be called Winter Park.  If the view is how you described, I’m just saying that name is fitting.”

Beckett didn’t respond, but he did pull her in close.  “You scared the hell out of me earlier, you know that right?”  His arms slowly slid around her waist.

Hope’s breath caught in her throat.  “I didn’t mean to scare you,” she said softly, looking up into his dark eyes.

“I know.  You meant to piss me off,” he chuckled softly as one hand came up to caress her cheek.  “I’m glad I found you.”

“Me too.  I can’t even being to think what would have happened if you hadn’t come when you did.”

“That’s not what I meant,” he said quietly, and bent his head toward hers.

“Beckett…”

And then his lips touched hers and silenced her.  Hope was too surprised to react at first.  It was everything that she remembered – soft, exciting and very arousing.  The man certainly knew how to kiss.  As if they had a mind of their own, her arms came up and rested on Beckett’s broad shoulders.  They were pressed together from head to toe.

His lips were slowly sipping from hers as if he was giving her time to say no or to push him away.  Hope knew this instinctively and raked a hand up into his hair and pulled him closer- making sure he couldn’t misinterpret her decision.

BLOG TOUR: A Very Grey Christmas (Kissing Eden #3) by T.A. Foster

AVGC_blogtour

AVGChristmas

SYNOPSIS

I was getting ready to spend the single most important holiday of the year alone. Completely and utterly alone.

That meant he wouldn’t be there Christmas Eve. No making Christmas cookies, or listening to my dad sing off-key while my mom bustled around wrapping last-minute gifts. No decorating the tree. No midnight Christmas kiss.

No waking up in Grey’s arms. We were actually going to spend our very first Christmas in different states.

That was until Grey gave me the most unexpected gift of my life.

94182-goodreads-badge-add-plus-d700d4d3e3c0b346066731ac07b7fe47

EXCERPT

By the time we finally said goodnight to my parents and Grey locked the guesthouse door, it was well after midnight. His arms wrapped around me and he kissed me lightly on the forehead.

“You know what I want to do we haven’t done yet?” he asked.

After last night, I was dying to know what other things we could try. “What’s that, cowboy?” I tipped toward him.

“We haven’t watched any Christmas movies.” His smile was wide.

“Christmas movies? You want to watch a movie, now?”

“Sure. I’m starting to get into this Christmas thing. Which is your favorite?” He hooked his coat on the back of the door followed by his scarf.

“That’s a tough one. All-time favorite Christmas movie?” I thought through the usual catalog. “Have you seen Christmas Vacation?”

Grey had already turned on the TV and was repositioning the pillows on the couch.

“Yeah, in high school, but let’s watch it.” He picked up the remote and started flipping through the iTunes movies.

“Be right back.” I left him searching for the movie and walked into the bedroom.

If Grey wanted to watch a Christmas movie, I had no problem with it, but I wasn’t going to make it easy for him. I pulled open the top drawer of the dresser and shuffled through what little lingerie I had. I lifted a sheer black lace bra and matching thong from the pile. It wasn’t much, but that was the point.

I shed my sweater and ignored the chill bumps on my arms and legs. I strutted into the living room in my Christmas best.

“Find the movie?” I asked and slid into the open spot on the couch.

“Damn.” Grey chuckled. “I did, but you aren’t in the mood for a movie, are you?”

“I’m in the mood for whatever you are.” My hand wrapped to the inside of his thigh. “If it’s Clark Griswold, then let’s watch it.” I stared straight ahead at the television, waiting for him to hit play, but hoping he’d accept my challenge and take me on the couch like he usually did at home.

Grey inhaled, and raked his teeth across his bottom lip. I could see the inner debate brewing.

“You don’t think I can watch this entire movie with you dressed like that, do you?” he taunted.

“I’m just more comfortable this way, that’s all. Think of these as my pajamas.” I let my palm trail over my breast and across my bare stomach. I was crossing boundaries I hadn’t tried. “Let’s watch it.” I ran my tongue along the outer edge of his ear.

Without reacting to a single advance, Grey pressed the play button and the movie started. Not what I was expecting. I sank back into the couch, realizing my seduction was going to have to wait until Cousin Eddie saved the day.

ASHLEY’S BOOK REVIEW: Dirty Rowdy Thing (Wild Seasons #2) by Christina Lauren

Finn

Despite their rowdy hookups, Harlow and Finn don’t even like each other…which would explain why their marriage lasted only twelve hours. He needs to be in charge and takes whatever he wants. REVIEW

BOOK REVIEW: 5 Dirty Rowdy Stars!!

Every once in awhile, there’s an author and/or authors that come along and make you fall in love with every word they write. Their writing completely consumes your world. They leave you craving for more of their brilliance. They make you drop everything when one of their books is released. Christina Lauren is that author for me!

Finn and Harlow have these misconceptions about each other. Finn thinks Harlow is a “girly girl” that only cares about the next pair of shoes she’s going to buy and Harlow thinks Finn has his life made with his family fishing business and is an A**hole with a capital A. They both couldn’t be FARTHER from the truth. We learn that Harlow is the “life of the party”, can be a bit loud, a dedicate friend, a “fixer”, and a family person through and through. Then we learn that Finn is considered “contained/closed off” and quiet, a dependable friend, and loyal to his family to no end. What’s that saying, opposites attract? They have characteristics that are similar, but yet their personalities are different. Can they “complement” each other and make a relationship work?

They both have a secret that is tearing their personal worlds apart…can they come together to save each other? Or are they just using each other for distractions? “What I want with Finn is the sex that absorbs me and shuts off my brain.” (Harlow). They both have something they want to forget in their lives, but they can’t….the only thing that seems to help to make them forget is getting lost in each other.

I loved that we got dual POV’s in DRT. That way us readers got to see “behind the scenes” and learn firsthand what drives these two characters to do the things they do. “We will either end up fighting or f*cking, and Finn does neither with any sort of tenderness.” The sex scenes were DEFINITELY DIRTY & ROWDY! “You want me just a little rough?” he asks, hands shaking where he cups my face. “Or you want me f*cking wild?”(Finn) “Wild. (Harlow). “Finnegan” as Harlow calls him once in awhile, certainly has a little kink in his repertoire…let’s just saw fishing for a living sure has taught him how to handle a rope 😉 “I want to be messy, rough, a little dirty, a little taboo. I want to claim Harlow everywhere, try anything she wants, and see the mark of rope and teeth and my spankings on her skin.” (Finn)

Everything about this book was AMAZEBALLS! It had it’s sweet moments, it had it’s sad moments, and it had it’s LOL moments! I loved being able to see more of Finn and Harlow, Ansel and Mia, Oliver and Lola again and meeting some new characters! CANNOT WAIT for Oliver and Lola’s story!

REVIEW

BOOK REVIEW: 5+ STARS

It never gets old to say that I LOVE CHRISTINA LAUREN’S BOOKS! They both are genious! Thank Jesus for bringing them together to write the best books in the world! The new book of the Wild Seasons Series is awesome. Sorry Ansel, I love you but Finn, Oh. My. God. Finn. Finn is amazing! And he has one particular taste that drives me crazy! *fan self* Did I just say I L.O.V.E. Finn? No? OK, here I go: I L.O.V.E Finn!! He’s awesome. He’s quiet but he has these very skilled hands *smirk* that did exactly what his words didn’t do.

“He is hard to read, easy to look at, and no matter how bad an idea it may be, it’s nearly impossible to resist pulling him closer”

Finn and Harlow’s story started where Ansel and Mia’s did too: In Vegas, baby! But it had a very different path. Unlike Ansel and Mia, Finn and Harlow got divorced the morning after the matrimonial trio. Afterwards, Harlow decided to go to Canada to repeat with Finn (I’d have done the same), and it was even better than she remembered. But….. the sex was the only thing good about them together.

“We will either end up fighting or fucking, and Finn does neither with any sort of tenderness”

And then, a few months later, they are reunited, because of destiny, or because their best friends got married and now they have to see each other even if they want it or not. That’s where everything starts. I love that their chemistry in bed is undeniable, and when Finn brings his “things” to bed, or to the couch… everything got better and better.

I love how their relationship was growing with every day they spent together. It wasn’t the love at first sight kind of love. They get to know each other, they started to trust in each other, sort of, and they fell in love with each other, so hard, so badly that i was suffering when the drama happened. Because yes, Christina Lauren always add drama to their books! Thank God it was only the perfect amount of drama.

I loved everything in this book. I wouldn’t change it a bit. I loved Harlow! She’s smart, she’s funny, she’s very open minded, and I love how she always finds a way to help everyone. I loved Finn! God, he is so sexy! Despite him being so quiet and very private, he is very straightforward, especially in bed. I love it when he talked dirty to Harlow, it was extremely sexy! What I love the most about Finn and Harlow was how they took care of each other.

“I’ve never had a man other than my father take a protective stance around me”

It was great to know what was happening with Mia and Ansel’s marriage, there were some great news about them in the book. It was also great to get to know Lola and Oliver so much better. I’m pretty sure their book Dark Wild Night will be awesome.

And here is the song that makes me think about Finn and Harlow everytime I listen to it. Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheraan:

And I’m thinking ’bout how people fall in love in mysterious ways
Maybe just the touch of a hand
Well, me—I fall in love with you every single day

AUDIOBOOK REVIEW: 5++ STARS

Sebastian, Sebastian, Sebastian! Oh. My. God. Sebastian. He is so perfect for Finn. His deep and sexy voice goes perfect for Finn’s personality. The exclusive prologue in the audiobook was so much fun! It totally makes me think about how their relationship will be in the future. Shayna Thibodeaux is now one of my fav female narrators. She did an amazing job with Harlow’s voice. Sebastian and Shayna were interviewed by Christina and Lauren and it was so awesome to listen to them out of their characters. Shayna is so cool, I liked her answers so much. Sebastian was amazing, he even remembered other characters he did in the past for Christina Lauren’s books. I was fangirling as much as CL were during the interview.
