cvr9781476730097_9781476730097_hr

SYNOPSIS

An ambitious intern. A perfectionist executive. And a whole lot of name calling.

Whip-smart, hardworking, and on her way to an MBA, Chloe Mills has only one problem: her boss, Bennett Ryan. He’s exacting, blunt, inconsiderate—and completely irresistible. A Beautiful Bastard.

Bennett has returned to Chicago from France to take a vital role in his family’s massive media business. He never expected that the assistant who’d been helping him from abroad was the gorgeous, innocently provocative—completely infuriating—creature he now has to see every day. Despite the rumors, he’s never been one for a workplace hookup. But Chloe’s so tempting he’s willing to bend the rules—or outright smash them—if it means he can have her. All over the office.

As their appetites for one another increase to a breaking point, Bennett and Chloe must decide exactly what they’re willing to lose in order to win each other.

Originally only available online as The Office by tby789—and garnering over 2 million reads on fanfiction sites—Beautiful Bastard has been extensively updated for re-release

REVIEW

ASHLEY’S BOOK REVIEW: 5 BASTARD STARS

I read this book almost 2 years ago for the first time and finally got back around to rereading it to complete a review. I forgot how much I loved Bennett and Chloe! This was my first Christina Lauren book and now I remember why I fell in love with this writing duo…two words….Beautiful Bastard.

Bennett Ryan…my Beautiful Bastard…oh how much of a bastard you really are. I loved to “hate” you and your filthy, dirty mouth, but just couldn’t resist you in the end…much like Chloe. Bennett was one of my first book boyfriends and set the bar pretty high for any future BBFs.

Beautiful Bastard starts out with a steamy bang…against a window 😉 *fans self* If you are looking for a book that gets right to the point -no pun intended tehe 😉 – THIS IS YOUR BOOK!

We learn right off the bat that the two main characters Chloe Mills and Bennett Ryan HATE EACH OTHER! But as the saying goes, “there’s a fine line between love and hate?” Well that hate fuels an undeniable sexual chemistry that hides right underneath the surface.

“I despised this man in a singularly sharp way, but my body was betraying me; I craved more of what he was doing.”

Their constant bickering and biting words intensified their craving for each other. They got off on fighting with each other. As a result, all the sexual tension builds up, until finally Bennett snaps and does the only thing he can think of in his lust-fueled haze, he takes what he wants—Chloe Mills… against a window, in an elevator, on a conference table, in a bathroom, in a stairwell… you get the picture right? 😉 They can’t seem to get enough of each other.

I had never felt this way, and I had never expected to feel this about him. I wanted to slap him, and then pull him up by his shirt and lick his neck.” “In all my thirty-one years, I had never met someone who pushed my buttons like Miss Mills.”

The biggest problem is Chloe is a “nobody” working her way up the corporate ladder and Bennett is the COO of Ryan Media Group (the company Chloe is interning at)… see the problem? She is only 4 months away from graduating and this “relationship” could derail it all!

Not surprising (to us readers), feelings of hatred turned into something more.

I wanted to be everything for her: her lover and sparring partner and friend.

Would they be able to navigate a personal and professional life?

Professionally our relationship ran like clockwork. It was the personal side that was a nightmare.”

Is it worth the professional risk for Chloe? Can they make it work without jeopardizing her future career or his current one?

This book does have a “closure” but it was left a little open for more to be written and thankfully we get to read more of their story in Beautiful B*tch, Beautiful Bombshell and Beautiful Beginning!!!

ANGY’S AUDIOBOOK REVIEW: 5++ STARS

It’s been a year since I listened to this audiobook for the last time and I have to say that I still think it is an amazing audiobook, it’s still in my Top 10. Grace Grant is one of my favorite female narrators, she did great with Chloe and Bennett. Her performance was flawless, the voices, the emotions, the intensity of the sex…. Everything was perfect!!

I remember when one dear friend of mine recommended me to read Beautiful Bastard. I was head over heels obsessed with Crossfire Series and Fifty Shades of Grey and it took me a while to start reading it, so I went for the audiobook instead, I loved the audiobooks of FSOG and Crossfire, so I thought I would love this one too. It turned out to be that I was right! In fact, I loved it even more than I loved the other narrations! Grace’s voice wasn’t “porny” at all, so it made the sex scenes more real, and it kept me blushing all the time.

What I loved about the book:

-Bennett Ryan! My beautiful bastard. Sexy, smart, great lover and very straightforward. Did I say panty ripper?

-Chloe Mills! My beautiful bitch. Sexy, smart, great lover and very straightforward. Did I just write this, right? They are the same!! That’s why they are perfect for each other.

-The panty ripping!

-The rough sex!

-The plot! Duh of course.

-I loved that we had more about Bennett and Chloe in Beautiful Bitch and Beautiful Beginning! They are my favorite couple in the series.

LOVE ME SOME BASTARD!

For Layla Lewis, life is finally back on track. After her “runaway year” in Cornwall, another year has passed—an idyllic year spent with sexy new love, Joseph Scott, in the sultry heat of Florence. For best friend Penny, life has also changed. Having recently given birth to a baby girl, she’s busy embracing motherhood.

GUEST POST

Facts about The Runaway Ex

By Shani Struthers

The Runaway Ex was never meant to be! The Runaway Year was meant as a standalone but then I got to thinking… what if the happily ever after hits a blip? What if someone from the past turns up, out of the blue, with a secret in tow – a secret she’ll only share with her ex? Voila! A sequel was born!

Certain songs inspire me when I write; I have a song for each book I write. For The Runaway Year, Toploader’s ‘Dancing in the Moonlight’ was the one – I wanted to capture that same happy, carefree feeling. The Runaway Ex is grittier though and Rhianna’s ‘Stay’ suits it perfectly. The lyrics and the heartfelt way it’s sung sums up just what the book is all about.

We see a different side to Joseph and Layla in The Runaway Ex, a side perhaps not so palatable, is controversial even. Penny too is not reacting in the way everyone ‘expects’ a new mother to react. And the interesting thing is the characters themselves are shocked at their own behaviour.

Penny was pregnant by the end of The Runaway Year and in The Runaway Ex she has had the baby. But Penny is finding motherhood more of a challenge than she cares to admit. PND is a subject close to my heart and writing her part felt very cathartic indeed.

There’s a third and final Runaway! Oh yep, I think after you’ve read The Runaway Ex, you’ll agree a certain character needs a bit of a break.

Hobbies include reading, writing, eating and drinking – all four of which keep her busy enough.

AUTHOR

8034143Writing has always been a passion for Leisa, and even though she originally intended to be an actress, it wasn’t long into her time at drama school that she began writing plays.

Those plays were bad. Very bad. Well, her friends thought they were good, but that’s because they were always cast in them and any opportunity to be on stage was met with an obnoxious amount of enthusiasm.

Since then, she’s honed her craft, and several of her plays have been produced and toured
throughout Australia.

These days, playwriting has given way to fiction writing, and Leisa’s debut novel, BAD ROMEO, will be available in a worldwide release through Macmillan Publishing in December 2014.

Leisa lives in Australia with her husband, two little boys, three cats, and a kangaroo named Howard.

(Howard may or may not be her imaginary marsupial friend. Everyone should have one.)
